1. Introduction
Friendever LLC ("Friendever," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Friendever mobile application and website located at www.friendever.com (collectively, the "Service"). We are a Missouri limited liability company.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have regarding your personal information. By using the Friendever app or website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
2. Who Uses Friendever
Friendever is designed for parents and caregivers. Account creation and all app activity is managed by adults. Children do not create their own accounts and do not independently access the Service. Parents create child profiles within their own parent account to organize memories and track emotional wellness activities.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All data about children (such as their name, birthdate, and avatar) is entered by the parent or caregiver who holds the account.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the Friendever Service. We do not collect behavioral data, advertising identifiers, or unnecessary personal information.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text. Session tokens and reset tokens are stored as hashes. Photos and videos are stored in Amazon S3, a secure cloud storage service operated by Amazon Web Services.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Friendever account.

8. Children's Privacy
Friendever is designed to be used by parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Child profiles within the app are created and managed entirely by the parent or caregiver who holds the account.
Information entered about a child — including their name, birthdate, and avatar — is provided by the parent and is used solely to personalize the family's app experience. This information is not shared with third parties beyond the service providers described in Section 5 of this policy.
If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take steps to remove that information.
9. Push Notifications
Friendever may send push notifications to your device to remind you of daily activities, streaks, and app features. Push notifications are delivered using Firebase Cloud Messaging, which requires your device's push notification token.
You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings. Disabling push notifications will not affect your ability to use the app.
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our active systems. Some information may be retained in backup systems for a limited period before being permanently deleted.
